Money Is Life Energy
The rule
Money is bottled hours of your life; a ₹2,000 dinner costs the hours you worked to buy it.
Where it flips
Pushed too hard, this makes you count every small joy in painful hours and never spend at all. The repair is to use it as a gentle question, not a punishment, and to let some rupees buy real happiness.
You do not really spend rupees. You spend the hours of your life that you traded to earn those rupees. So before you buy a thing, do a small check. Ask how many hours of your life this thing is asking for. When you see the true price in hours, many wants quietly fall away, and the important ones stand out.
A worked example
Rohan earns about ₹250 an hour. A ₹5,000 gadget looks small, but that is 20 hours of his life, half a work-week. Seen that way, he waits and skips it. [illustrative]
How to spot it
- ·You buy without asking the hours it cost
- ·Small-looking prices that hide many work-hours
- ·Regret after a purchase you did not weigh
