My Stock Guide is run by Manoj Sethi as an individual, not a company. For the purposes of the DPDP Act he is the Data Fiduciary - the person who decides what is collected and why. Contact details for questions, corrections and complaints are at the foot of this page.

You can read every book, chapter, principle and glossary entry without giving any personal information - no name, no email, no phone number. As a guest, the things you create (marking a chapter done, quiz outcomes, notes, highlights, your theme choice) are stored only in your own browser and never leave your device.

An account exists for one reason: to sync your reading across your devices. If you sign in, we collect and store:

• Your email address - used only to send your one-time sign-in link/code and to identify your account. There is no password; we never store one.
• Your reading data - progress, quiz outcomes, notes, highlights, bookmarks and preferences, so they appear on every device you sign in on. When you first sign in, anything you created as a guest can be uploaded to your account.
• Session / device info - a device label (from your browser’s user-agent), your IP address and timestamps, so you can see and sign out your logged-in devices.
• Minimal server logs - the API and its host keep basic access logs (IP, user agent, requested path) for security, as any server does.

There is no advertising, no newsletter list, and nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics runs only with your consent - see the next section.

To understand which pages help readers and which don’t, Google Analytics loads only after you press Accept on the banner. Decline (or ignore it) and no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is set. When on, it collects your IP address, device and browser details, rough location from the IP, and the pages you view - used only in aggregate, never to build a profile of you. Ad-personalisation and cross-device signals are switched off, and the data is processed by Google on servers outside India. The DPDP Act says withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it, so it is one click, here:

Turning it off deletes the analytics cookies already in this browser and stops further collection. Your choice is per browser and per device.

Your notes and highlights are personal. They are readable only by you, on your account. The administrator can see account metadata (that an account exists, when it was last active, how many devices) for support and abuse handling, but cannot read the content of your notes or highlights. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

Account data is stored in a MongoDB database and served by the My Stock Guide API running on a dedicated server. Sign-in emails are sent through an email (SMTP) provider, and - only if you consent to analytics - Google (on servers outside India). These are the processors, and they act on the author’s instructions. Your reading data is kept while your account exists; delete your account and it is removed. Sign-in challenges (link/code) expire within minutes. Guest data in your browser stays until you clear it.

Essential cookies, only once you sign in: an httpOnly session cookie (and its refresh and a small CSRF token) that keep you logged in and protect the sign-in. These are strictly necessary and set no profile. If you accept analytics, Google’s _ga cookies are also set; declining sets none. No advertising cookies, ever.

• Access & portability - download everything on your account as a JSON file, any time, from your Account page.
• Correction - your reading data is yours to edit directly in the app.
• Erasure - delete your account from the Account page; it permanently removes your email, reading data and sessions. As a guest, clearing your browser storage erases everything.
• Withdraw consent - sign out on any or all devices, or delete the account, at any time, with no effect on your ability to keep reading as a guest.
• Grievance redressal - write to the contact below. If the reply does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate - you may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

This site is written for adults making their own financial decisions and is not directed at children. The DPDP Act forbids tracking or behavioural monitoring of anyone under 18 and requires verifiable parental consent to process their data. Readers under 18 should not create an account; the content remains free to read as a guest.

Sign-in is passwordless, so there is no password to leak. Sign-in tokens and session secrets are stored only as one-way hashes, never in plain text. Traffic is over HTTPS, the API restricts which sites may call it, and sign-in requests are rate-limited. Your reading data is scoped to your account so no other user can read it.

• Not registered with any regulator. The author, Manoj Sethi, is a retail investor sharing what he has learned - not a registered research analyst or investment adviser, not an insurance agent or distributor, and not a tax adviser. He holds no registration with SEBI, IRDAI or PFRDA. He can be wrong.
• Your account. Keep access to your email secure, since it is how you sign in. Use the site lawfully and don’t attempt to disrupt it or access others’ data. Accounts that abuse the service may be suspended or removed.
• Past performance. Any return figure here is historical or [illustrative]. Past performance is not a guide to future returns.
• No warranty. Content is provided “as is,” may contain errors, and may be out of date. Illustrative figures marked [illustrative] are constructed, not real-company data.
