Track Every Rupee
The rule
Write down every rupee in and out; you cannot steer money you never look at.
Where it flips
Tracking can become an end in itself, hours of neat notes that never change a habit. The repair is to review the record monthly and act on what it shows, not just record it.
Money slips away in small unseen leaks. A chai here, a delivery there, a forgotten charge. You cannot fix what you never see. So write down every single rupee that comes in and goes out, down to the last coin. No judging, just noting. In a month the plain numbers will show you exactly where your money really goes.
A worked example
Haridya thought she spent little on snacks. She noted every rupee for one month and found ₹3,100 gone on small orders. Seeing it plainly, she cut it in half. [illustrative]
How to spot it
- ·You cannot say where last month's money went
- ·Small daily spends that never get written down
- ·Records kept but never reviewed or acted on
